What bass for around £700? Help please :) Hi, I am looking for a replacement to the old squier p/j thing, and i should have about 700 pound to play with. I don't really fancy buying used, as having a warranty and a shop to hand would give me some peace of mind. I play mainly jazz and blues with my big band and function band now, although do a bit of mucking around with rock-y stuff sometimes :) I have looked at the G&L tribute L2000 and M2000 but thought that they would be a bit over the top for what i am doing, and I thought about a Mexican Fender Jazz Deluxe, but I am now fairly sure that I want an MTD KZ4. Any ideas? Thanks, Sam. |
I'm goin' backwards, like this... The L2000 is the most versatile axe among the three: yes, you got a chunky, almost "old Precision"-wise neck, but also opportunity to go from active to passive (the sound is always coherent, yet different) from serial to parallel: with highs knob rolled off and passive with serial switch on, you can dial in an almost raggae tone; with both highs and lows knobs at full, in active with highs enhancer and wired parallel, you get modern jazzy sound, then everything in between The Fender MIM Deluxe active Jazz is the most versatile shape Ceramic Noiseless pickups are great, I'm serious But you can't wire it passive and no parallel/serial option The Kingston is a bass I somewhat dig in, but too "hifi/modern" for me Cheers, Wallace |
This! Great sound and for around $500 great bang for your buck. ![]() http://www.schecterguitars.com/produ...-custom-4.aspx |
