| | | | What was the best non-Fender J you ever played? Some companies do Fender better than Fender. The best one I played was a Joe Osborne sig Lakland. |

| | | | Had a really old aria pro jazz copy with block inlays that sounded gorgeous, miss that bad boy, was my second bass after my squier p bass. It served me well and sounded more like a jazz bass than any other I've owned since, neck was rock solid and comfy as well. |

I usually don't like 5's, but this one was superb and weighed considerably less than most. Cannot bring myself to spend that kind of money on a bass, but if I could, it would be at the top of my short list.

Quotin' again up until the end of sentence I'd tell that, havin' in the past the opportunity of a 5er boutique made for me (that I eventually let down) if I'd ever spend that kind of money, I certainly wouldn't go for Sadowsky, but for Custom USA G&L L2500 from American Guitar and Band (definitely no Jazz bass anyway)
Cheers,
Wallace

Not really. Here's the thing. I don't have much experience with Jazz basses. I've had two in my 32 years as a bassist. One was a MIM that fell apart on stage on me back in the mid-90's. that turned me off on Fenders for quite a few years.
The best I've personally ever owned is my SX Ursa 2, but you have to understand that I've put a TON of work into making it play the way it does. |

I think they just made a lot of terrible basses around that time. I think mine was a '93 or '94. By the end of '95 it was firewood. |

That was back before I knew anything about my gear. Now, that bridge would have been swapped before it made it to the stage.
Funny, that was the LAST time I gigged without a backup. |

Cheers,
