And I also swapped the bridge for the BA II...then swapped it again for the Babicz Full Contact (in black).

BTW - where can I get a tort pickguard from for my 3-tone sunburst MIM Fender Standard Jazz bass (not active)?
I bought the featured one (JPGST-ET $22.99) from http://basspartsresource.com/middle_bass.htm and it doesn’t fit - it almost fits, but it doesn’t completely meet the control cover plate so the cavity isn’t completely covered (I think it's for the active model?).
They have another 4 ply one for $42.99 http://basspartsresource.com/bpickguard_jazzgenuine.htm but I don’t know if it will fit or not. Where can I get a tort pickguard for my MIM Fender Standard Jazz bass from? Thanks
EDIT: 10 hole, with no truss notch cutout.

| | | | White pg's always look cheap to me. (Though white pearl is cool). And black is boring. FOr classic sunburst -- gotta go with classic tort. You can't go wrong. |

And I’m looking into the one at warmoth.com - I just downloaded the full size paper tinplate.
Thank you.
If anyone else has already gone through this and knows for sure where to get one that fits, please post. Thanks

| | You unlock this door with the Key of "E"magination | | Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: The Archduchy of DuPont | | You may have to buzz it down a bit. I bought a black pearloid a ways back that fit my sunburst Affinity Jazz just right. However, I swapped the plain black from my Squier Standard Jazz for the pearloid, and it didn't fit very well, probably due to the different manufacturers (Affinity=China, Standard=Indonesia).
I laid one pickguard over the other, then took a Dremel tool to the overlapping areas and slowly, very slowly, buzzed the pickguard down to a proper fit. I had to take a little off the major contact points (neck, control plate and pickup slot) but eventually, it sat in it's proper place.
If you look really close you can see small imperfections (I wasn't using any fancy workbenches, guides or otherwise. It was all done by hand and eye), but they're so tiny you'd either need to have them pointed out or have an incredibly keen eye for detail.
Going back to the original post, color matches are incredibly subjective. That being said, I've found the black pearloid + sunburst looks great. I did see a black/red/black pickguard on Warmoth. I'm curious how that little bit of red piping around the edge would look in real life. I think it would look even better on a black body, but again…subjective.

I tried the sans pickguard look for a while, then it was mentioned that the tort would shrink so I put it back on... it was a bugger because it had shrunk.
