So I want your honest feedback. I just got these new Q-Parts Ringo knobs, and I'm not sure if I love them. I could've gone with the dome knobs, but I figured I'd do something different. What do you think? Should I keep them or switch them to the done style knobs?

So this is my fretless Hamer 2Tek Cruise Bass I bought from tdizzle. I've had the fingerboard planed and epoxied. It sounds and plays GREAT! Let me know what you think of her! I also got some FretFX LEDs to put on, but first I have to have the new 4-string Hipshot string retainer installed. I'll post pics when it's all done. I string it with GHS Pressurewound strings. I'm considering a Fender-style tray bridge cover. Thoughts?

I think they compliment the color scheme of the bass very nicely. I'm not sure about the bridge cover, but the bass already looks very classy and the ashtray may add to that. Good luck!

They look ok with the pickgaurd. Myself I only use knobs with postion marker or speed knobs.

Think the knobs match the scheme of the instrument. The bass looks very clean and functional as it is. No way I would put an ashtray on that bass. It would not fit the look and also would cross the line to being too gaudy IMO.

Peace,
S

Those are really cool. I love how they compliment the pickguard.

The Ringos look okay huh? I kinda dig them. Domes are plain looking. Still debating the ashtray bridge cover. The FretFX go on after the new string retainer. I have a three string retainer on it now, but the E needs help. The new one is one the mail. Gonna get that put on soon.

First thing I noticed was the knobs and how they were different. I like them on that bass, looks good. Keep'm.

Thanks! What a great bass! It's a tad heavy, not too bad though. Of the four fretless basses I've owned over the years, this one is my favorite. It's a keeper.

Cool! That was what I wanted to hear! What do you think about adding a bridge cover?

Those knobs look cool. Bridge and pickup covers (IMO) never look cool.

I can't do the pickup covers. Can't play with one. I can do a thumbrest. Bridge cover still up in the air. Probably will pass for now, but still open for thoughts and suggestions. Don't like the idea of more screw holes in my bass.

Personally, I dig the knobs, gives the whole bass kinda a 1950's-kitchen-appliance kinda vibe. I don't think I'd put a bridge cover on, might shake that vibe a bit for me, but it'd still look pretty cool I think
