What Do You Use To Clean Your Bass

Back in the old days I could take a can of lemon pledge and clean my bass. Now pledge seems to gunk everything up.

Suggestions?

Blue

I've used Old English scratch remover on old battered wood with oil as an original finish.

EDIT: For the oil finish on my current favorite bass, the maker recommended Howard's Feed and Wax. It nourishes the wood and leaves it silky afterwards. And it smells good.

If it is really dirty I have had lots of luck with Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes, I took a lot of gunk off my Stingray with them. Other than I usually use some Dunlop #49 or whatever it is called, maybe some lemon on the fretboard, depends on the fretboard.

Second on the Music Nomad products. The guitar detailer, ONE and fretboard oil are all amazing.

Damp diaper cloth. Then a coat of Meguiar's carnuba wax (#26 or Step 3) on the body and down the back of the neck. Then dry diaper cloth for dust after that until the wax wears off.

I prefer the dirt. Gives something for the funk to hang onto.

I've tried different things over the years, but always seem to go back to lemon Pledge for painted surfaces.

Ain't that the truth!

I think we will eventually become the same person, Phalex. I've seen you around, and we agree on most things.

Usually just put them out on a windy day, just to lightly freshen them up.

I've used the Gibson polish in the orange bottle for years.
