I'd like to get some opinions on this Fender. I'm not really familiar with this model.

This is not a Fender, as far as I know there is not such thing as 24-fret Fender.

Fender briefly made a 24 fret jazz bass.

Incorrect.

Fender made a American Deluxe Jazz QMT and FMT( I owned one) and a cheaper model called the Fender Deluxe Jazz 24.

The American Deluxe was an outstanding bass but I couldn't deal with the 18 volt pre and sold it about a year later.

There was a shortly made Korean serie of Fender basses and guitars. This is one of them.

EDIT:
This is Deluxe 24 as mentioned above. Made in Korea as I mentioned

Do you think $400 is the right price for this?

There was a lined fretless just like it on my local craigslist for $275, but somebody beat me to it.

My Fender Steve Bailey fretless has 24 positions, and the fretted model has 24 frets.

Granted, they have been discontinued.

If it's in good shape, $400 is a good price. Last retail for them was around $800. I've seen them used for $4-600.

It's a good price IMO. One was $699 used at my local (crappy) music store which I thought was a little high, but it sold quickly.

21 days later this bass is still for sale. Think I should offer him $300 for it.
