what finish color for jazz bass with graphite neck?

Sign in to disble this ad
I want to build a jazz bass from parts.
I have already decided that I want a Moses Graphite neck, but for the body I want a Fender Custom Color. Usually I dig most of these colors, but I don't think many of them would fit well with a black neck. For example I like fiesta red, but I'm pretty sure it won't work with a black neck.

So far the only combination I imagine that would look neat is olympic white body with a mint green pickguard

I'm pretty sure I want to go with one of the original Fender Custom colors from the 60s

From another thread.

There's a list here of all the '59 custom colors. Maybe that would help.

Hmm, I'm beginning to think the metallic colors like sherwood green and lake placid blue would work with the graphite neck. On the other hand I always wanted surf green, or daphne blue or fiesta red, but I think these colors just wouldn't look nice with a graphite neck

Here are mine:

- '62 reissue bodies
- EMG actives
- Moses necks
- Wilkinson 5-string conversion bridges
- Fender/Schaller lightweight tuners

The white one sounds really good - and is for sale - but the sound (and setup) of the sunburst is AMAZING.

Hope this helps!
