Had a late 70's P-Bass that weight in at almost 14 pounds.
Sold it as fast as I got it.
Now, I like basses between 7.5 lbs-8.5lbs. |

| | | | I don't remember what it weighed, exactly, but I had a Gibson Ripper I bought new in the mid-70's that I eventually sold only because of its weight. I still have a groove in my left shoulder from wearing that thing.

Weighed over 11 pounds, had no useful sounds for me, and was a shining example of why I have affection for '70s Fenders (well that and being a dealer trying make a living selling those over-priced bits of mediocrity). In '79 I bought a new StingRay that weighed LESS than my Precision...

Mine was a '76 and it was about the same weight, but man, the tone, the tone was sooo deep and ballsy. The previous owner had put EMGs in it too. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
