i would love to hear the type of bass that u guys purchased at a very low price. I only own a few basses, but my dad's friend purchased a 78' pre ernie ball musicman stingray 12 years ago for $150. I guess the guy he bought it off of thought that the neck was warped but all it needed was to be setup.

Both basses have been routed for Jazz PU, and the 1962 P is a refin, but both have original split PU's, neck, body, hardware.
Pretty sweet scores if I don't mind sayin' myself.

When I received it, I was puzzled because it had an ebody fingerboard and a bubinga body. It turned out that it was a limited edition. Only 150 of those were made
I kept it for a few years although I didn't fall in love with the Warwick tone. I eventually sold it for $1,450

| | Registered User | | Join Date: May 2010 Location: Vancouver, BC Canada | | | August 2010 - I bought a new Warwick Thumb BO 6 from my local music shop for $1600. It was an older model which sat in their inventory for a long time. I walked in one day & said, "I'd like to take it off your hands if you can offer me a good price." The sales clerk made a brief phonecall to the admin office upstairs, hung up & asked if $1600 is a good enough price. (I totally walked in there expecting a lowest offer of $1800 if I was lucky.)
October 2010 - After saving & searching for a long time, I found a used Conklin GTBD-7 for $900 including shipping on CL. Upon receipt, the bass was in almost pristine condition, lik e it hadn't been played much at all.

It needed the neck pup rewound, and I replaced the wiring totally and found a used bridge pup on ebay (had a Jackson J pup in there).

A 69 Tele Bass - neck and body...$75.00...the body was stripped of all electronics and hardware..neck was perfect.
I ordered all parts for the bass from Fender and found a 68 Tele Bass pickup at the NYC guitar show for $80.00. I had the Ken Fallon at Sadowsky guitars assemble this bass... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
