I think I may have answered this before, but I will again if that's the case:

My main bass is a fretted 5 string (Sadowsky Metro)... I play it at least 85% of the time I pick up a bass... which is about every day...

I also have:
3 4 strings (Fender Jaguar, Squier Jazz, Hartke PJ I got for free)
1 6 string (LTD)
and a fretless 5er (SX)

I'm planning on buying a cheap fretted 5 string soon... traveling the subways w. my Sadowsky is causing some serious paranoia... maybe a Squier active 5 or one of the new MM S.U.B. basses...

Four string fretted atm. Though to be quite honest if I had the money to drop on a six, I would jump on that.

Two 5 strings and a 4 string (which rarely sees the light of day). 5 stringers pretty much all the time!

It's a 4-string automated teller machine. It rocks AND dispenses cash. Every bass player should have one ... good for the 'bottom line'. A little heavy, though... ;^)

I play a Shine 6 string bass (Ibanez Copy). I'm happy with the sound and price of the guitar however I'm saving for a MTD (Michael Tobias Design -Andrew Gouché signature 6 string bass)

Mainly 4 string fretted - Squier Mike Dirnt Precision, Squier Jazz, Epiphone Thunderbird IV, Warwick RockBass Corvette, Italia Modulo; and I own one 5 string fretted, an ESP LTD R-15.

Four-string fretted.
I just came over to bass from tenor guitar and mandolin and play an '84 Peavey Fury as my first bass.
I hope to add a Fender J-bass in the near future.
