Hello, after cruising craigslist i came across this left handed jazz bass. I'm not too familiar with vintage Fenders, so I can't figure out what kind of bass this is, or be it a fake. I'm skeptical because of the lack of a bridge pickup. Can any of you tell me if this is a fake, or a good find? I'm also inquiring with the seller of a serial number. Thanks again! |

I have no clue as to it's authenticity, but it looks like it needs a couple hours in the dishwasher, followed by a good makeover.

| | | | Looks fake. I don't believe Fender has ever put their headstock decal on in that manner. The bridge pup could have been removed and the route filled in, the paint in that area looks sloppy. Also, the pickguard doesn't line up cleanly beneath the upper horn or through the lower horn. The bridge is also weird looking..... I would be surprised if you get a serious reply from the seller regarding a serial... |
