What was that new bass guitar company...

which offered the basses which looked like Fenders on steroids with MM buckers. I think one had a Tele body like a 3 coil humbucker or something.

I think they were called "Fraudula" or something.

How can a pickup have 3 coils and be humbucking?

It was in an extended housing, having three rows of pole pieces instead of two. The name escapes me right now, though.

I remember some people throwing a fit because they only made 5-string basses. I think it started with an F.

Maybe you mean Enfield? http://www.enfieldguitars.com/ Not exactly Fendery-looking, but they do have the pickups you're describing...

Frudua, Tuscany, Exclusive...they all seem to be tied together somehow. I think "Tuscany" is the lower end, Frudua the higher. Not sure though.

Personally I thought the Tuscany basses looked nice, though certainly not innovative or anything...
