I'm not sure, but it sure looks like a good bass. The PJ config and maple board will probably pull out some interesting sounds, and the black block inlays work suprisingly well aesthetically with the black finish + tort pickguard.

WOW ! Nice-looking bass ! If I had 900 to spend I would jump on that.

This was a limited run P-Bass Mexican Deluxe, made especially for GC. The biggest differences were, IIRC, the frosted surf green finish and the black blocks on the neck. There's a long thread on it here on TB. I played one in my local GC and wasn't all that impressed, though that might have been due to the horrible setup.

My local GC has one of these in Seafoam, it's an incredible instrument in every way and worth more than the price. YMMV

You're right, Duck, it's seafoam, not surf green. The one I played had an outrageously awful setup, almost unplayable, so I'm sure that colored my opinion.

I've seen it at my GC, the one I tried played pretty well, not on the level of my MIJ Aerodyne, but I really like the look

I'll have to look for one. last time I was there they had this satin finish honey brown precision with maple neck and it was amazing. $700 I was ready to buy after playing it but after 30 min of watching GC employees hound parents as soon as they walked in and ignore me cuz I'm 22 I decided not to give them any business

I really, really wish this didn't exist. More accurately, my bank account wishes.

It looks like it's a Deluxe P Bass Special, in fact the headstock says "Precision Bass Special", but it appears to be passive, with a blocked and bound neck and a Badass II, and it costs $200 more. I'm not sure that's $200 worth of improvements...
