Hey folks,
I am looking for a p/j bass that has the following features:
* passive
*9 lbs or under
* P style neck
* 300 bucks or less used
Anyone have any idea of a good bass that fits all these requirements? All I can seem to find ar P/ Js with J necks or ones that are out of my price range.
Im hoping to score something like an older yamaha peavey ibanez etc, that will be a quality instrument for a good price (kinda like a peavey foundation---great bass for low cash) but I havent really found a model that meets all these requirements. I am not a big fan of squier or SX so I will be looking down other avenues. Any help is appreciated cheers--PK |

Late edit:: The Squier VM-Jag is 8lbs, 0 ozs.

The only way to really know which instrument might be better for you is to try them, but I will say that I have owned ESP instruments before and always felt they were a huge value. Lots of vibe. |

You can find some for around that, although they also go for a little more. But its a solid bass if you can find the US made ones. Jaco had one, Garry Tallent used one for two tours, and Alec John Such used it on the first couple of JBJ tours.
Good, workman basses with great P/J sound.
Has a neck that is more P then J.

Has a neck that is more P then J. | The Pilot is a great bass, but mine definitely had a narrow neck--more J than P. |
