Sign in to disble this ad
I love my rare exotic basses...crap to sell on, but a joy to own.... my new love and GAS is this bass.. they are unfortunately..mega bucks!.. there is not that many in the world...

im aware of the thread of the unfortunate purchases from Nick Tung... and im sorry for those that have had bad experiences..

but this bass does it for me..

i also love Surine and New York Bass Works basses... Sukop too

let me see the rare basses you love.. pics please...we all
want to see these beauties..

also this Hamer Impact..these are very rare.. i love this bass..

im not really talking custom one offs (ok maybe) but limited editions, limited runs, unknown basses from not so well known luthiers.. exotic basses.... these are an example..

Dingwall Super J.
Add a rosewood 'board and it's perfect.
Don't own one, sadly.

Long discontinued, never to be built again officially, perhaps 200 made at most.

For the most part, the tone of really exotic basses doesn't quite work for me in the styles of music I play, but I've played a few that really knocked me out and this was hands down my favorite, both in playability and looks:

Oh yeah, sorry I forgot! It's a Pavel singlecut 5, you can see it:

I went to the shop and tried it out, it really was an amazing bass. IIRC correctly it was around 5 large so it's not exactly a steal, but it literally stomped everything else I played that day, including a few ritters that were twice the price.

MM Cutlass II w/Bartolinis -- I have had this for 15 years. A little heavy (10 lbs) but worth its weight in tone.

I like these. Which is why I bought them. Some might look familiar, but not at all easy to find in the real world.

Where did you get that Mouradian? and when can you deliver it? I have had GAS for one of those since I first started playing bass back in the day! Like the old school 8 string bich too!
