In the late 60's and early 70's it was almost eggplant in colour which made it appear to be Jetglo from a distance. You could only tell that it was BG when you were very close to it.
This is my 73 pictured below before it was stolen (Ser# MD1582). This photo was taken on a very sunny day.
As you can clearly see, it's a much darker Burgundy than the bass in the video and the one pictured above.
