Yo guys!!!

While jamming with my old friend Tony, his dad let me use a bass that his uncle was selling, and let me tell you, it was incredible!!!! Surprisingly, it was a Rick, but I have no idea what model, considering I've never even seen anything beyond a 4001/3...

Here are the pics!!!

Also, here's a video of a one-day jam we put together!

Thanks, guys!

Hmmm....control plate is the wrong shape for a 3000/1. It looks more like the control plate from a 230 guitar so mayber a 2030 bass? then again it has a bound body so my best guess is a 2050.

But someone who knows the inside leg measurement of the guy who did Rick's QA between July 1993 and October 1998 should be along in a minute

That's an awesome bass. How much did he want for it?

That would be a 2050 or a 2060. It will have a bolt on neck and the same electronics as a 4004.

Looks like a 2050 with some modifications.

I've played a couple, they are pretty sweet. Very respectable basses.

How did you know? :P

This bass is gorgeous, he wanted $1,500 for it, but I was working on him to sell it to me for only $900. He was giving the family a discount on it because, well, they're family.

I didn't have 900$ at the time however, so I had to pass... eventually, I'm hoping to get it another time...

Thanks!

Sure looks like the elusive 2050 Eldorado. First I've ever seen one outside of a catalog pic. How many of these did Ric make? 100?

I really hope not. I don't want to have any regrets for not taking that bad boy home. -_-

There's no way it's worth $1500! Yes it's rare, but so are my unicorn drawings and they aren't worth anything. I would not pay more than $1000. The median price on eBay is probably something $800 (including all 2000 series basses).

Rare, but not even close to being 'sought after'.

There's only two Eldorado's listed on the Rick Register at the RickResource, prices $999~1099.
