I just acquired a mexican fender 5 string for $150. Was that a good deal or did I just get screwed? Also, the only things noticeably wrong with it are that the d and g strings fall flat after a few tunes and the neck is warped as hell. Is there anything else I should look for?
Other than my basic concerns, I am so so happy to be back in the game with a 5 string. Time to dust off the ol' genz benz rig and get back to work!
$150 is a great deal for a MIM Fender, you're lucky to find it at that price. As long as everything appears to be in working order, sounds like it just needs a setup and maybe some new strings and you'll be good to go, congrats on the new purchase. Pics are always appreciated, if possible.

Is this issue correctable with truss rod adjustment? I think this is the main concern. The D & G strings going flat might be due to the movement in the neck-pocket of the body.
I think the D and G strings not maintaining their position is due to the saddle screws probably. I remember replacing my bridge almost immediately on my MIM with a Gotoh 201.
