What are some 34 scale 18mm mid to high end 5 strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I like the way an MIA Fender 5 feels but I want to step up the build quality and electronics and B string if possible. Any suggestions on mid to high end 34 scale 18 mm string spacing 5 strings? Does not have to be a jazz bass.....

Thanks

Stingray 5 or G&L L2500.
Both are more consistent on quality than Fender IMO.

I believe StingRay 5 is 17mm
Fender jazz V is 18mm
Sadowsky is 19mm

Bump for suggestions of high end 5ers that are 34 and have 18 to 18.5 spacing.... Anyone?

You can order a NYC Sadowsky with a 1-7/8" or a 1-3/4" nut width, as well as 19 or 18mm string spacing. 12" radius on 5-strings always.

G&L is 17mm I believe. Definitely not 18mm though. I was able to get 18mm out of my G&L though by putting shims in between all of the saddles. Worked pretty good.

Might want to check out Warwick basses though. They have adjustable string spacing, so 18mm is not a problem with Warwicks.

I know I am more sensitive to right hand spacing than left hand. Warwicks do give you that option. I never realized all the directions that Warwick bridge can move until recently I trued up the string spacing to be about the same as my Lakland. Now I don't have to practice the setlist separately for the Lakland and the Warwick!
