What is your favourite PJ Fender?

...And why?

I am currently selling a bunch of stuff (pedals, guitar - yes, shoot me!) and plan to acquire a PJ to use it as a companion for my Tony Franklin fretless.

What are your favourite PJs?

Thanks for your input!

Ivan

I remember this being a great playing/sounding bass.

Precision Lyte

The P bass plus (1990-1993) with Kubicki electronics. Smaller body, good neck and plays both active or passive. Still pretty affordable (they sell below value in my book).

the tony franklin precision bass.

EDIT: just read your inital post - you own one already... :-)

and the one of juan alderet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8ZQu80QVNw

i think the new american deluxe precisions are very good, too.

I own a fretless version of it, not a fretted one. I'm looking now for a fretted PJ.

Call me crazy, but I'm in love with the Modern Player Jaguar.

I have a 1992 P-bass plus (also called the Boner bass.) It has Hipshot tuners and a Hipshot high mass fine adjust bridge. It has the pickup selector and Series/paralel switch and the TBX tone pots so a wide variety of tones from this one. I have owned several JP/90's and an aerodyne and a Strings and Things St. Blues King Blues (made in Memphis TN USA). Not the currently made ones and the P-bass plus is my favorite.

my MIA hot rodded P. It was my first bass and still a fav! Though I must admit I've been keeping the J off a lot lately . . .

Here she is:

Good looks and a great price. I just wish they offered more than one color. :(

The older MIJ P/J's are great. Power Jazz, Special, P-J, all of them are great IMO. The MIJ/CIJ Aero's sound great as well, I never liked the bound edges, but the sound is there.

This one's my favorite:

As far as I know, the only Fender P/J that is wired correctly is the Tony Franklin.

Agreed. If they were offered in Seafoam Green with a reddish brown tort guard. It would be mine.

But they sound and feel great! Especially for the price!

+1 Also

I'm not a Fender guy, but I did like the PJ Aerodyne I played with once at GC. I was impressed.
