What's your bass tuned to?
 

I've been messing around with different tuning's for my 5 string ever since I bought a 6 string (now tuned to ADADGC) to use for the band I'm in.
So far, all I've come up with on the 5 is CFACD#. It's pretty fun to bounce around in clean, as well as blast through w/ distortion.

If anyone else has any other weird/awkward tuning's, please share.

So basically standard tuning on all 5ers, but generally 1/2 step down. Mostly with a B string, but increasingly with a C.

A: 440

I'm in a death metal band, so I have 5 B strings on my bass and tuned them all down to A. :hiding:

I may be drunk... but that makes no sense.

on my 4 bangers E Flat on down...

on my fivers B flat on down...

or basically i tune a half step down from standard..lol

not bad.

A = 440 and to tuned to 4ths. Your weird tunings seems bizarre and confusing.

Basically dropped tuning only on four string basses.
Dropping the "G" string on the 5ers makes things more interesting.

Is that cello tuning, or is it an octave lower. And why?

My Rickenbacker and my Ibanez 4001 copy are tuned EADG, as is my acoustic fretless.

My modded Peavey is tuned BEAD.

With metal band it's:
A, D, G, C, F on 5er
D, G, C, F on 4er (C, G, C, F: whenever a detuner is on)

With cover band it's:
B, E, A, D, G on 5er
E, A, D, G on 4er (D, A, D, G: whenever a detuner is on)
