Where are Lakland Skyline basses?

Where are the new models of the 44-01/DJ/44AJ, etc? Large stores seem to have only a few old models.

I may get flamed for pointing this out, but the price differential between new and pre-owned basses seems to be increasing (IMHO). No actual data, but my impression is that this is particularly so with Skylines and MIA Fenders based on what I'm seeing in the Classifieds.

If I were buying a Skyline or two, I'd go used. And I did.

Flame on... but yeah. All my Skylines were bought used, too.

The price differential could be a result in less disposable income for luxury items (like extra basses)... At least that's what the War Department has told me (right after she told me to do the dishes...)

I just picked up a used 44-02 deluxe on Ebay for $717 shipped, there were only 2 bids, went $20 over starting bid. Several new ones up there for $1400+ so yeah, resale probably isn't great on these. Granted mine has some cracks in the finish on the back, but whatever, I don't look at it I play it. And that quilted maple top still looks sweet anyway.

I got a 4401 with LH pre and US barts upgrade on here for 650$ in perfect condition and the thing absolutely smokes. Seriously might be the greatest cost per performance purchase in the history of basses! (exaggerating of course)

s_j bass probably got that term from me. I got it from a cool boss back in the day.

My War Department signed for a used Skyline via FedEx today. Oops. I think I got some 'splainin' to do!!
