White Pearloid pg on Candy Cola

Received my American Standard Precision V Candy Cola/Maple last Thursday. I replaced the white pg with a white pearl tonight. Really liking this combo. Only wish the pics showed it better....well you guys know......
Anyone else change out their pg's on the Candy Cola?
If so to what?
.......Post some pics.

This closeup pic shows the metalic in the Candy Cola finish;

I don't believe there is much. I believe the Candy Apple has gold under coating and the Candy Cola has silver. You would probably have to have them side by side to really tell the difference.

That is what I was thinking. I have two CAR basses and in pictures they look just like the pictures in this thread.

And yes, white pearl looks great on either. I had a CAR Lakland JO4 with a pearl pickguard. Very nice looking.

I changed my Trans red SR5 from a flat white to white pearl PG, and it was a great choice. I like those pearl knobs. Where can I get those?

I used to be a big pearloid fan, but I think I used it one too many times, and now it sometimes looks cheap to me. Suddenly plain or "parchment" looks good to me on certain colors, like that fantastic candy cola. Especially with maple boards.

For some Choices.

I got mine from eBay for $16.00 delivered.

I didn't think CAR had a metallic undercoat. I believe the early ones were translucent red over bright silver, which was later changed to gold. To my eye, the Cola has a metallic gold undercoat

Nice!

I never understood the current tort craze. Everything actually looks better with white pearloid.

How the times change! I remember when white pearloid was called 'Mother of Toilet Seat'. But I do agree that it's a nice compliment on a candy finish.
