| | Nope! | | | | | Can't stand black basses... when I got my T-Bird, I changed the cosmetics before I even touched the strings. Customization is key for me. |

Don't own one, yet! Maybe someday I'll stumble on one in that color scheme that speaks to me.
Both my Fender Jazzes, the 1964 and the R.W. are both sunburst..... |

All my basses have been / are some sort of natural or burst - cherry, amber, tobacco, natural, etc... |

The black bass is a bit boring and I've thought of maybe getting it detailed but have discovered the sound a sight of the good lord....DR Strings. All kinds of great coloured strings, neon strings that sound awesome.

Like my Ibanez. No pickguard, matching headstock. Black. If it had some contrast, like a ply pickguard with white in the middle etc.... Then it would be better.
Ive thought about getting a skin or....gulp....a sticker just to break things up a bit.

The same smudges etc that show up on a black bass are there too on other colored or natural basses. Just harder to see. This joint is hot though. Black and classy.

But being a pasty white blonde guy, black has never worked for me. Black clothing, especially T-shirts, has never worked for me. Pretty much shy away from all things black.
Being a pasty white blonde guy who loves maple neck basses, same thing, black just doesn't look good (to me) with all that lovely light maple. So I've never owned one, and likely never will. |

As far as smudges go, never had a problem with them on any of my black basses as I tend to wipe down my basses after I play them. A good microfiber cloth (silky kind) takes care of any smudges instantly and is also good for wiping down strings. Just takes a few seconds, no big deal. |

I'd say that your bass is Da Bomb. Very impressive looking. I too take good care of my basses. I have two black basses and I always wipe them down after I play. Congrats on that bass. By the way I do have a friend named Black Bart :-)
