I have a Fender Precision Deluxe in Black and Blizzard Pearl, I found that the Blizzard Pearl looked better on a dark stage so I used that one exclusively for gigs. I do like the all black with black hardware look.

Gibson/Epiphone SG's & EB's look good in black. I'm not crazy about stock black Fenders with chrome hardware, but a blacked-out Fender or other is desirable. An ATK would be good blackened. It's just that damn bridge plate is a beast. I appreciate it, but not for its looks.

I only have one black bass and that's all I need. I think any more than one black bass is redundant. I like old Fender pastels, mostly because you rarely see them anymore.

Any colored bass just isn't my thing. I prefer natural, stains or sunbursts. Although, I did see someone on here wih a Modulus that was jet black, black fingerboard, and DR Blacks on it. Not a hint of color on it anywhere. That stealth bass was pretty hip looking

I find rosewood fretboards to be boring. Give me maple, ebony or a fancy exotic wood and I'm good to go.

I've never been part of the black instrument club until now...

My wife bought me the jaguar for xmas.

They are in order,
1. My brother's white Ibanez SRX2EX2 (looks great on stage but I don't like the way it sounds)
2. My Blue Squier Affinity P Bass (bought it for less than $100 and I think it sounds great)
3. My new x-mas present from my wife, my Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special... I am not allowed to play it until christmas

I like the look of black basses, but you need to wear something to make it pop if you want it noticed...

In my experience, if it sounds great, it looks great. Right now, I'm looking at my main squeeze--a black '84-87 MIJ fretless Jazz (Basswood body, Schaller bridge, Bill Lawrence pups, 304 stainless steel pickguard). It sounds like awesome sex, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The only thing I want to change is to enamel-coat the pickguard BLACK.

I'm not much of a fan of black. I do think every man needs to own one black bass, just in case you're playing a wedding gig or something where your pink paisley or candy apple red bass would be inappropriate.

I don't necessarily find black bosses boring, they're just not my thing.

What I do find boring is one major American manufacturer's insistence that it's too expensive to offer too many colors other than black.

Meanwhile you have upwards of 50 different finish options with a new G&L.

Black basses are like black cars in the summertime.
