Black with maple fretboard, dead sexy.

| | | Just the opposite. Both of mine are black. I think a black deluxe Jazz with a maple fretboard and a black 4003 look very impressive and hardly boring. I put a white pearl pick guard on my Jazz and it looks even sharper!

| | | | I'm in the midst of building a black Warmoth fretless j bass. However, my other basses are a green Mod Q5, a sunburst MIA J Bass, and a Firego Ric. |

Stark, clean, elegant, classy, simple and sexy as hell. I have a sonic blue p bass that is super fun to play, but I find the color of it to be quite distasteful. Natural is okay with me, but kinda boring. Burst can be cool if done really well. Any other colors I don't particularly care about one way or the other.

Now that many companies are going more and more to nice veneers over cheaper wood, the wood grain is starting to lose its magic to me, but I haven't let go yet. The bass I'm eyeing right now is a very traditional 3 tone sunburst

Actually for sale on the eBay right now.
I've got three black basses right now, this one, a piano black Washburn and a black sparkle Danelectro (also for sale).
Black is OK with me but I like natural better - I'm keeping all my maple and walnut basses

| | | | I have a black blacktop jazz with black pickguard. Looks nice when it's perfectly clean, otherwise smudges and dust make it look bad. Am either going with aged white pearloid or red tortoise pickguard, or will make it more of a roadworn bass, stress it in all the right places and never cleaning it again. |

Especially with a maple neck

| | | | IMO it depends if it is gloss black or flat black. Ive always loved how flat black looks but gloss black, not so much.
