Me. I knew I wanted one when I first saw one in the Fender catalog back in the '70s. I do have fretted basses, but fretless is my goto.

Oh, thats a good idea about the plastic inserts to mark the fret locations. Ypu'll be fine. The learning curve is relatively short.

Even my fretless Jazz basses have the side dots.... Does that mean these were fretted at one time? I know that both of them have had the orig rosewood fingerboards replaced with ebony. But that was done before i bought them (used). Hmmmm.... *finger on chin*
