| | | | Whose Main Bass Is A Vintage (Over 30) I've recently added a '78 Ric 4001 to go alongside my newer 4003.
I totally love it - the dings, the vibe and history...the whole package.
Must admit, I also really dig the whole different tone as well, really classic.
It's rapidly becoming my no.1 'go to' bass. It's my first 'older' bass as well.
Anybody else use a vintage (say, over 30 years old) as their main go to bass? Please beat my 'young' 34 year old 4001! |

| | | | '73 P for me. There is nothing quite like the mojo/character/personality of a 30+ year old instrument. |

They started the bound/dots in the 80s but continued to use the 78 serial number codes as late as 83. The heel of the neck should have the exact date code if you want to disassemble it. |

Late 60's fretless jazz
and an '83 L2000
I could not choose between the two. In a fire I'd bring them both. |
