I get asked on a regular basis if Kevin builds basses with more than six strings. The only reason he hadn't up to this point is because nobody placed an order for one...

Brubaker 10 string:

Kevin can build ANYTHING... I like the bass in your avatar...looks similar to the one Malcolm Hall brought to NAMM last year.

Can I get a free one? wouldn't it be nice for the company to get an endorsement from an average player I think that would really stand out.

I've got to get a hold of one of these and play one. They look so freakin' good. I just need to see if they feel and sound as good as they look.

Wish I knew someone near you who had one. If you're ever in the area there are enough here to almost make you sick of them.

This one is inspired by a conversation I had with Kevin. Nothing like a good short scale.

Actually the very first one, the prototype four, was almost too good to be true...

it has an Alder body and the first time I heard it on a gig (at BET Studios) it had...

- ridiculous sustain and
- ridiculous punch (I usually don't find both to that degree on a single Fender)
- sounded like a 70's Ash Jazz when slapped
- nailed the Jaco burp when the bridge pickup was soloed

The fact that one bass did all that was pretty weird. My green JXB-6 does most of that except for really nailing the soloed bridge pickup burp without a tweak.

I used to live in Severna Park back in the 90's. I even graduated from a private school in Severn. I haven't been back since, though. I may take you up on your offer if I do go for a visit. I have a bunch people I need to see from school so there's a good reason right there, outside of playing your Brubakers, of course.

Clip of the Prototype JXB-4

I did this clip a few years back for my granddaughter. It is merely a small representation of the bass. I post this so one can get a idea of it's voice. Kinda. MJ
