I get asked on a regular basis if Kevin builds basses with more than six strings. The only reason he hadn't up to this point is because nobody placed an order for one ...
Brubaker 10 string:
Getting ready for a gig... | Kevin can build ANYTHING... I like the bass in your avatar...looks similar to the one Malcolm Hall brought to NAMM last year.

it has an Alder body and the first time I heard it on a gig (at BET Studios) it had...
- ridiculous sustain and
- ridiculous punch (I usually don't find both to that degree on a single Fender)
- sounded like a 70's Ash Jazz when slapped
- nailed the Jaco burp when the bridge pickup was soloed
The fact that one bass did all that was pretty weird. My green JXB-6 does most of that except for really nailing the soloed bridge pickup burp without a tweak. |

I haven't been back since, though. I may take you up on your offer if I do go for a visit. I have a bunch people I need to see from school so there's a good reason right there, outside of playing your Brubakers, of course. |

I post this so one can get a idea of it's voice. Kinda. MJ http://youtu.be/z9myB64mTRI | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
