It looks more like zombies with paint scrapers got at it.
The colouring looks ok, but the technique is obviously too...obvious.

The 'reliced' Rick on page 1 however just looks bad and needs a refinish.
And who really wears that much finish off of their headstock?
Jeez, if the bass needs that much tuning it's a piece of junk.

This is what a fake "relic" should look like:

That's nice.
Does it cost $539 ???

I like relics, but that aint a relic! Besides the hardware which many pointed out, I've never seen any relic real, or faux with those wear patterns. To each his own, but please don't call that a relic.

Right. And if they lie about that, who knows what else they are lying about???

It's not really comparable to that bass or a Road Worn or CS as far as value is concerned.

It's a '90s MIM Jazz that has been given a "treatment", so start at the cost of a '90s MIM Jazz and go from there.

+1.
That is the first thing I thought of when I saw it. New shiny hardware makes it look even more ridiculous!

If the hardware had been treated and it didnt have a brand new shiny white pick guard, it might actually look pretty cool and somebody might buy it.

That is a cool looking finish. I agree, finish rather than relic.

Can somebody please show me the "Rules and Regulation Handbook" of relicing? Try as I may, can't find a thing on it. Seems pretty silly to me to say "my fake is better than your fake".

Do the way real musicians do it...naturally. I wish I had a photo of my friend's 1979 StingRay. It was a disaster...I couldn't tell you what or how he played it to get wear patterns like that. He must've used a die grinder as an ebow.

This is what a fake "relic" should look like:

To each their own. People are allowed to like it if they want, and maybe those same people wouldn't like this relic.

And if thats a bass you made, I think your post is a little biased

I've seen several original guitars with that level of paint loss but only 2 basses.
