Would a '64 jazz have a label that looks like this?

It looks like it is a newer stick on label.. Would a vintage instrument look like this?

Here is the original listing..

I am not so sure of purchasing from Singapore either!

The ad says its a refin...so the headstock decal is probably not original. BUT the original ones did look like that, the sticker was over the lacquer when they did the matching headstocks back then...

I'm a sucker for vintage gear, and I wouldn't spend 10k on a 64 refin, not even CLOSE, so why worry about it?

That bass is worth about half that in this current market. And even at that price, it still might not sell.

Also, BANK WIRE TRANSFER ONLY!?

Ha! PASS!

What he said.

10K is WAY too much for a refinish, but man that sucks, I bet that's a really nice bass.
Gorgeous color too.

Yes, that's the way they look. Before mid-'68 the lettering were water slide decals that sits ontop of the laquer. So yes
they yellow to different degrees than the laquer.

The ebay bass though is way too expensive for a refin.

I agree. When I first saw it, I was like WHOOAAAA!

It's a beautiful aging job, from a relic'd/refinish perspective.

But yea, they'll be lucky if they get $4500 for that bass.

It's always hard to tell with pics. My first impression is either that's one really well executed refin/relic jobs or that bass was refinished at least 35-40 years ago.

Looks like a great bass, but that price is obnoxious.
