Hate the colors. But love the bass itself.
But $6000.00? I see no reason for that bass to cost $6000. Absurd.

Having said that, I don't know why you'd buy a pre-built CS instrument, rather than having it designed to your specs. |

EDIT: Actually, after looking at close up pics on MF's website, it looks like it's meant to be a gold flake with transparent blue edging burst finish, and doesn't appear to be worn at all, even though they call it a "Relic".

if you buy that bass, play the first note and remember "if you hear this sound, you've been ripped off".
Man - buy a Fender Precision Time Machine for 30 percent of the price, bring it to a nitro lacquer specialist and let them paint it that way - for 500 Euros.
Or buy 3 handmade P-basses from a guitar builder in your area for the same price, which are better, sound better and are your personalized tools.
I think, in the future the english language will have new words:
1. "to fender someone" = to sell fools creepy stuff for too much money
2. "to gibson something" = building replika stuff that isn't historical correct
3. "to gibson someone" = calling a cop a jew.... (Mel Gibson)

You all laugh at this now but in 30-40 years it will be worth some major bank.
I mean hell Look at "floral" telecasters. I bet everyone laughed at them back in the day and now they are worth more, given the market is smaller but there is still a market. 6k for a player? no, that is absurd. 6k for a what will be very expensive collectors bass in the coming years. Yeah, more than likely.

| | | | The color is meant to be retro as there were Formica counter tops and vinyl seating in that color in the 60's. It was more of a blend than a burst, but it was sought after in that era.
As far as the CS goes - if you can afford it, it's worth it. If it's out of reach -it's out of reach. I think they use that number as a bargaining point to start from. |
