Yamaha Pulser Bass 600

Hey guys! I have had a Yamaha Pulser Bass 600 for about 20 years now. It has a two to three piece maple body with maple neck and tortise shell pick guard in mint condition. I have tried to find out more about it and the only thing I can come up with it was manufactured in a period between 1980-1981 and was the next generation after the PB 400s. Does anyone know anything else about the PB 600s? Is it a desireable axe or is it junk? It is a beautiful bass and I am trying to figure out whether to upgrade the electronics or sell it. I find a ton of info and opinions on the PB 400s but nothing on the PB 600s. It is most commonly refered to as the "lawsuit" bass originating from the Fender lawsuit I think. If anyone has any info or opinions they are much appreciated. Thanks!

I'll go ahead and say it, we will need some pictures of the bass in order to give you any accurate information.

Sorry, that probably would help. I did verify it is a three (3) piece body.

Note, I took the bulky guards of the bridge and the pick-ups. Any information or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Beautiful bass, I have one just like it no idea of the value and was trying to figure that out as I may sell it, I see 400's selling for $400 or more, I think these are on par and worth about the same.

"Lawsuit basses" are a whole category of instruments made in Japan by a couple of the major factories. All kinds of names are associated, including Ibanez, Greco, Univox and several others. Yours looks nice. BTW - the body is ash of some kind. Looks like a hard ash (closer grain than lighter swamp ash). Most of these basses are built to last and often sound great.
You can probably get an idea of its value using some of the other names and a little Google time. If I owned this bass and liked it and it played well, mods to upgrade its sound would make sense to me. Of course, there are others who know more about the lawsuit instruments who might express a different angle or who might prefer to leave it untouched because it has its own mojo.

beautiful bass

if everything's in perfect operating order, except acceptable wear, does €. 400,00 match (with exchange gap) $. 400.00 plus shipping over Europe?!

Cheers,
Wallace
