Yamaha Vs Washburn

Hello Bassers!!

Just a quick question - can anyone identify these basses and are they any good?? The one is a Yamaha and the other is a Washburn.. A friend saw them in a pawn shop and just sent me a quick pic.. Hoping someone can identify them off the cuff and perhaps share some info!!

I am gonna be purchasing one of them just not sure which lol!!

Many thanks in advance!!

The one in front I assume is a Yamaha RBX170. The other is a jazz copy, I assume a rather cheap starter-pack type but I don't know much about it. I had a Washburn Taurus and it was a great bass but wouldn't vouch for this. I'd vote Yamaha. Are the prices good?

Hi - Yeh prices seem cheap actually - I'm in South Africa so taking exchange rate in account they are asking about 200dollars and about 150 for the washburn - Yeh i am actually leaning more for the Yamaha..

I guess they both kinda beginner basses - I presently own an Ibanez Roadgear 5er which i am very happy with but i want a decent 4-banger in the stable too..

Thanks so much for the info - just read some reviews and the Yamaha seems like a winner!!

The RBX170 sells for about $180 new in the US. Sometimes things are more expensive abroad depending on shipping and all, but I wouldn't consider $200 a great deal. I'd negotiate with the guy if you're interested.
