If she fails the Superbowl gig, I am quitting bass and learning tuba, sitar or theremin!

Thanks for the kind words, it is truly a great bass

Why does my gear always show up on a Monday? Guess that's why I have Monday off. Have fun with your new bass!

Wow - gorgeous bass! But the TRUE test will be when you lend it to me for one of my gigs in Toronto...

There's no doubt it will fail the Superbowl gig, but the good news is that I have a tuba to trade you. Get ready to start your next musical journey!

Or just buy one of my other basses and I will throw it in for free!

Kinda scary though, I am doing the Superbowl gig as a favour and it only pays $75/man plus drinks. The Fodera is a perfect choice!

I want that. The Emperor is pretty much the only Fodera model I like, and the standard is pretty much the top end of what I could ever spend on a bass. You know, after saving up for an aeon...

I also love the two-tone flamed top. I don't know why more makers don't offer that.

Thanks man!

I have only ABed it briefly for 30 min last night. It the Fodera is more articulate and has more of a cutting tone with great clarity. The Fodera won't be as forgiving as most other basses. The Spector is definately a darker sounding bass and the MTD has more prominant bottom end. The Fodera is really versatile though and I need to play around with the coil tap, active/passive switch, soloing each pickup, etc.

I am gigging with the Fodera and either the MTD or Spector tomorrow. I really need to hear it in a band mix.

Keeper for sure.

I really like the pickup placement. more shifted toward the neck than the traditional "modern" soap bar set up. I bet you can fill out the room nicely with that tone.

The outter coils on each dual coil are spaced the same as a 1970's Fender Jazz Bass.

I have a Squier Jazz Deluxe 5 string modified that worked great for a Grey Cup gig, I'm pretty sure it would also be great for a Super Bowl one... Do you think the same thing as me?

Edit: by the way, your bass looks awesome...
