How many basses do you own?
What are they?
How much did they cost on average?
How much was the most expensive one?
I have 6 basses - '79 Peavey T-40, '84 Fender P Elite II, '90 Fender HM, '00 Fender P Special Deluxe, '04 Fender Dimension, '?? Maestro Fretless
They average out to about $297.83 per bass.
I snagged my P Elite from a gospel music store in Atlanta for $700 in 2000.
Lets see. American Deluxe Jazz - Nicest Fender I have ever touched. An American Jazz 62 reissue, assembled out of correct reissue parts - killer vintage tone with flats. Fender Jag, nice and fun. A modified parts Jag with a Curtis Novak DS in the MM/Starfire I position and a Warmoth neck. A Fender parts tractor, again with one of Curtis' DS'. A heavily modified Squier SS Jag - A fun bass. A fleabay parts bass in ash/maple. A defretted Spector Korean neck thru, circa 1990 or so. But the greatest? My Lakland Skyline Hollowbodies. The 34" is truly a delight, and it's smaller 30" sibling completely blows my mind.
On average? Probably a grand or a little more.
There is a long running similar thread:
There are a few serious collectors here ...
Squier P-Bass, $150, Tanglewood Tab1-CE Acoustic Bass, $400, Gretsche Hollow Body Bass, $800, Warwick Corvette 6, $2500, and just to be sure, my Balalaika which is on the couch, $250.
I got the Warwick about a week ago and jumped from 4 to 6 strings, and it's amazing! I still go between basses, but my main bass is my Tanglewood and Warwick.
L-R Fender/Squier Frankenjazz $250.00 eBay; Squier Bronco Bass $150.00 Guitar Center; Squier Affinity V with a few mods, $175.00 eBay.
So I've got $575.00 wrapped up in my bass collection.
L-R: Fender Jazz bass; Squier Affinity Jazz V; Roland Juno Gi; Martin DM; Yamaha YPT-240; Squier Stratocaster; Squier Bronco Bass; Ovation Celebrity CC245. Also pictured: Shakers, Vibra-Slap and Lee Oskar harps in G, A and D.
