Your Signature Bass?

Yep, another one. If you could have your own signature bass, what would it be like. Be as descriptive as you want.

I would want an Ibanez SR signature bass.

Woods: Alder body w/ flamed maple top. Wenge/bubinga 5-piece neck.

Finish, see these pictures: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...zor/bass01.jpg, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ium640x480.jpg

For the neck finish, some automotive polyurethane with a spray bomb satin poly over, wetsanded smooth. Matching body color, of course.

Construction: Neck-through, graphite bars in the neck. Two-way double-action truss rod.

Pickups/electronics: Two SD3 Neo Humbuckers , Volume knob, 3-way rotary switch, active preamp with no onboard EQ controls, just an active/passive switch. No tone control.

Other: 5-string

This thing would rock

I'll play.

Either Fender or Squier, whichever would make sense commercially for FMIC.
(made in US, Japan or Korea)

A fretless precision bass.
Slab body like a 51 telecaster bass, wood: ash or maple. And the body would be very thick so it would weigh as much or more as an average jazz bass.
Natural finish and no P/G.
Neck: exactly the same as the Tony Franklin fretless bass, with the ebony fingerboard and Hipshot detuner.

A passive bass with just a split-coil P pickup. Probably Seymour Duncan SPB-3 or something equally.

Strings: DR HiBeams roundwounds, thickest set.

That would be my signature bass. Probably not ideal for everyone.

A bound and blocked Jazz in sunburst and tort with a rosewood board, coming standard with the ashtrays and foam between the strings and the bridge ashtray. Nitro finish for that satiny, light feel and added breathability. Flats, not sure which yet. Shakin' Slim engraved in the neck plate
Probably Antiquity II pickups.

Other option is everything listed here except a P Bass with a bound and blocked jazz neck. Other than that, just the same.

I like to keep it simple... Just the basics and nothing too excessive.

So maybe this:

A good old-fashioned 11 stringer, just like you hear on most rock records.

simple...
Light alder body 5 strings, one pickup(either bassculture or häussel split coil or stacked humbucker...or maybe even just a single coil,I recon), no electronics whatsoever, 36" maple neck, brazilian rosewood board and 29 frets.
Bolt on or neckthrough...since there's no difference in performance really ,it's not a huge issue for me.
No positionmarkers.
And the same again in fretless and 34" 4 string.
Basically exactly what I have been playing for quite a few years ( well I only have a 5 fretted...).
None of the basses will have a signature on them.

Mine would be a Spector rxt(?) telecaster bass. It would have emg 35dc/MM active pickups. A three band eq and individual volumes for each pickup. Gold hardware and painted see-thru red and with my name inlaid in elder futharc(abalone) on the headstock.

I've been trying to visualize this lately (for a Warmoth/custom build), and I'm getting close... so far I've got a couple of models thought out:

Best bass for Metal ( ):
- Downsized Jazz body (Warmoth "Dinky" or similar)
- Alder body, Flame maple cap
- Black dye / See-through black finish
- Gotoh 201 bridge (black)
- EMG 35DC-HZ (Bridge) & P-HZ (neck) PU's (both passive)
- Status Graphite Jazz neck, with only side dots
- Schaller lightweight tuners (black)
- Volume / Volume

The other one would be about the same (maybe a different finish), but with a normal (but graphite supported) maple/rosewood neck and passive J/J PU's, a series/parallel switch and 2 x volume.
