My Signature Bass

Ive got 2 ideas for what my signature bass would be, the first i have designed roughly in illustrator, it is a fender style jazz body with a thunderbird neck and headstock, featuring a humbucker and a single coil pickup at the neck.

The 2nd idea is a traditional thunderbird pro 4 bass, but with the tuners on the bottom of the headstock, a deeper cut away to allow access to the lower frets and a revised placement for the front strap button to make the bass hang more horizontal than neck diving. i would also put a better bridge on.

A Steve Harris signature, but I would change the bright blue color of the official one for any other color, white, black...

lol whut? That's a list you don't see every day!

And 28 frets is a lot! How would you apply something like that to your bass lines?

A CIJ re-issuse of the Fender MusicMaster with an Areo pickup. It would have a string thru body and a Mustang neck.

Mine would be....
1. Jazz bass body
2. Dual active precision bass pickups.
3. Geddy Lee style thin C jazz neck.
4. 60's style vintage tuners.
5. Hi-mass bridge, similar to blacktop jazz style.
6. Three tone burst, natural, and vintage colors only, such as sea foam green, antique white, etc. NO BLACK WITH WHITE PICKGUARD!!!
7. Unique shaped pickguard, undecided on exact shape.
8. Hardshell case.
9. All under $1000 if Fender, $600 if Squier.
10. Made wherever cost effective without sacrificing quality.

For me? It would be a Sunburst P with a maple neck and a tort guard.

Then I could see my 'Sig' bass everywhere! I'd even autograph the back of the headstock - for a small fee, of course...
