The Thomastik-Infeld Music Clinic/Workshop conducted by bassist extraordinaire David Friesen is a service provided by the Austrian string manufacturer for universities, colleges, conservatories and other music organizations worldwide.
Friesen will conduct a one or two day jazz clinic for all instruments with the goal to help students broaden their vision of music by explaining practice techniques, how to and what to listen for in music, how to participate in a group format and an understanding about purpose and commitment.
Thomastik-Infeld sponsors the clinic, and the only responsibility for each school is to pay for a hotel room for the clinician(s) for one night.
There is also a new DVD from Hal Leonard of Friesen and guitarist Jerry Hahn conducting a Thomastik-Infeld clinic at the U. of Nevada/Reno.
