A $350 bass pre that has no apparent balanced output, Requires 18 volts to reach its full potential, lacks the standard sweepable mid and takes up as much or more room than its competition?

I'll pass. Pretty color though.

Curious... no balanced out... first thing I noticed it lacking. Maybe it could run on phantom power, too?

My Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass Preamp has all that for 1/2 the price.

I have a PJB Super Flightcase BG-300, so I am extremely impressed with Phil Jones.

I agree with Stick Player, Phil Jones is impressive (BG800 here), but for $350 this unit should have all the bells and whistles.

I'd use this to spruce up my bass, but it already has onboard pre-amp via ibanez EQ-IIIB, can you use a pre-amped active bass with a pre-amp box, or is that just stupid? My Amp itself cost 10% of this things price..

I can't find the edit message button in here >.<

wouldn't it be possible for someone to just buy some pots, caps, resistors, and build the same thing for much cheaper?
