TalkBass.com fully recommends the third party website, "
The Libster", for their online lessons, transcriptions, tips, and more. One of the first real instructional websites for bassists, The Libster went offline for several years, but is now back online in 2006.

From Libby (The Libster):
"The Libster is an educational bass guitar site which includes dozens of lessons, bass arrangements, bass transcriptions, a beginners' guide, technical advice, solo pieces, fingerboard familiarity drills, bass oriented sound files, playing tips, a Q&A section, links and much more. There are two extensive lesson series - one on reading for bass and one on chord theory.
There is also a new section, "Basslines" which includes pdfs of basslines and mp3s of accompanying performances. Everything at The Libster is free to download & everyone is welcome, so come along, but please say g'day at the Libster Lounge.
The site was taken offline for a few years as I wanted a break from it & life took over. In the meantime I accumulated hundreds of arrangements & basslines, I learned how to do some web programming and also my Nephew started learning the bass. It was he who asked me to dust off the old site and put it back online - so it's back better than ever, with a lot of new stuff and a 2006 make-over.
