David Potts was a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for 32 years, from 1970 until 2002. Born in Fiji and educated in Melbourne David began his working life as an industrial chemist here in Sydney. Music and the Double Bass began as a late hobby and quickly developed into a passion. He changed professions to join the ABC National Training Orchestra when it started in 1967. From there he went to the SSO in 1970 and soon began to also teach p
