- A 1977 BC Rich Eagle, affectionately known as my bass, (played since 1979) that had EMG's since the early 80's. But with a 2010/2011 makeover it now has Villex pickups, Gotoh GB350 res-o-lite tuners, Fender bridge, Thomastic Jazz flats, custom electronics, custom strap. The goal is for my bass to be lighter weight with improved ergonomics and a more woody/natural tone with less sustain. I want the envelope of a note to be more like that of an acoustic bass pizzicato and less like that of a piano with its damper pedal depressed. If I need or want more sustain I can always use a compressor.
