- Previously owned gear:
- G&L 2000 with newer profile neck(thinline J-type), custom made from the factory. Tried it, loved the sound, but the ergonomics just didn't fit for me. No one's fault, but...... Rickenbacker 4001 1976 vintage, was my main stage axe for 20 years, but time & technology move on, even after hot rodding with Bassline's replacement pickups. Main stage axe is now a Maple Peavey Cirrus with Hipshot Extender. Had a Bubinga model of the same axe, but the wood difference gave a warm tone that lacked a speaking voice around the 150-225 Hz range I find desirable. I've owned a number of amps over the years, started with a Traynore(original Pete Traynor, 1st generation) 15" 100 watt, then graduated to a 412 driven by a tube Traynor Voicemaster, growled nice. Segue to 2 X GBX powered cabs(circa 1966 vintage) a 410 plus a 215 and ran them into the late '90's. Jump to a Peavey Max preamp into a CS800 power amp(2 rackspace, not the 400 lb dinosaur) driving a self-designed custom 215 w/2X8 biamp cab. Great for big rooms & outdoor gigs. Then came the BAM, still in use.
- G.A.S. List:
- Roadies! Perhaps it's an experience/age thing, but man, after gigging for the last 35 years, it gets a little tiring to drag gear every time you go out the door. I'd like young cute female roadies, but my lady would object, so I'd settle for roadies, period, LOL.
