* GK MB212:
500 watt combo with two 12" drivers and a BIG sound -- tight and punchy but only weighs 37 pounds! I bought it specifically to gig with and the weight was a very important selling feature. Everyone who hears it and picks it up cannot believe the sound it puts out. Amazing unit.
* TC Electronics BG500:
500 watt combo with one 15" driver. Rock solid with some interesting features (onboard compressor, tuner, presets, tweeter adjustment and tube tone adjustment) that sold me. This is a heavy beast -- 70 lbs but it's my at home/practice amp so I don't have to move it. The 500 watts are a bonus.

- Any and all Soul, Funk and R&B from the 1970's. It was the golden age of Black Music and it left an indelible impression on me musically.
