- Every bassist I have ever seen has inspired me, especially bassists who play poorly. Bassists who play poorly inspire me to practice. While the list does change every so often, I have developed a liking for Christian McBride, Gary Willis, Flea, and Bootsy. While I do admire the bassists who tear the audience a new *******, I most enjoy bassists who lay down a solid, booty shakin' groove.
