Somebody else to carry it all to the gig! - Gigs, Bands, & Ensembles:
- Marsh Brothers band (Original rock, reggae & folk)
- Influences and Teachers:
- Early on: Paul McCartney above all. And he got a lot of his stuff from James Jamerson, although I didn't know that til much later. Also Jack Casady, John Paul Jones, Jack Bruce, John Entwistle, Phil Lesh & The Grateful Dead, Chris Squire, Tiran Porter (Doobie Bros), Roger Glover, John Lodge, all the great Motown players, all the great L.A. Wrecking Crew players, Mel Schacher (Grand Funk Railroad), Kenny Gradney, all the guys who played with Zappa, and on and on..
Then I discovered Jaco. Still get a lot of inspiration from what he left us. Also Stanley Clarke on the School Days & Journey To Love albums.
These days my favorite is Victor Wooten. Also Les Claypool & Bootsy. But one guy I never get tired of... George Porter Jr. of the Meters. Also gotta mention Tony Hall on the Neville Brothers' "Live On Planet Earth". He's now with Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk. Love that greasy New Orleans funk!!!!! | Lazylion is not a member of any public groups | |
