Sex:
Male
Location:
Cracow, Poland
Current Setup:
Double basses:

-For general use:
German, 1871, flat back, rather thin sound boards and extremely high bridge for gut strings set-up with F. Moser's adjustable saddle. The original neck and bass bar were unfortunately replaced.
Strings:
-spring/summer/autumn set-up:
G, D and A1 - Gamut Pistoy-s, middle tension
D1(this is not a mistake - I just like to have this 36 Hz instead of standard 41 ;-) - violone D1 by Damian Dlugolecki - the core, rewind with plain copper by Dan Larson (Gamut)
-winter set-up: Velvet Anima-s with Garbo D-string

-For Baroque:
Probably about 150 years old flat-back, clumsy and having a little unsymmetrical shape of the body.
I'm using frets on it and testing different tunings like fifths and presently Viennese tuning.
Strings: Guts by Damian Dlugolecki, Kuerschner supplemented with some East German, 30 years old thick guts.

Bows: German style, luthier made.
Also 3 replicas of historical bows - 1 mid, 1 late baroque, 1 classical J.M. Sperger style like.

Rosin: Gaston Brohan's Oak Bass Rosin, soft

Electronics:
Pickup: Ehrlund Acoustic Pickup + preamp
Amp: DB 510 by CAD-audio
Previously owned gear:
The instrument:
6-string violone - not very big and not very small to try both tunings (from D1 and from G1), strings by Damian Dlugolecki.

Double bass strings used in the past:
Gut: Damian Dlugolecki, Kuerschner, Pirastro Chorda (G and D only)
the A1 and E1/D1:
-spring/summer/autumn set-up: by Damian Dlugolecki - the core, rewind by Dan Larson (Gamut)
-winter set-up: Aquila Thunder (nylgut core)
Other: Presto (identical to Eurosonic), Thomastic Spirocore (a long time ago)

Rosin: Carlson's, Nyman's, Pop's (a long time ago)

Electronics:
-K&K Golden Trinity system (Golden Bullet mic. + Double big twin + preamp)
-APT-FlexElectret
-Revolution Solo II
-AI Contra III series
-Markbass Mini CMD-121P
G.A.S. List:
A replica of 2,5 meters high, 5-strings "Gross Contra-Bas-Geig" (M. Praetorius - "Syntagma Musicum - De Organographia", Wolfenbuettel 1619, Sciagraphia, Table V)
Gigs, Bands, & Ensembles:
Di Galitzyaner Klezmorim and some local baroque ensembles from time to time
Influences and Teachers:
I don't know ...
Other Hobbies & Interests:
