Made some good progress yesterday. I got the hardwood shim for the neck pocket cut, and sanded, and sanded, and sanded, and sanded, a little bit of shim goes a long way. Here are some pics at this stage.

The neck has not been oiled again after all the sanding. You can still see the remnants of the black dye at the 15th fretline, where that area is still a little low. The board does however look much better than the before pictures. All of the other fretlines are smooth at the board surface. The board plays nicely at this point.

The bridge picture is with .008 relief, and the action at 5/64" as measured at the 17th fretline. The pickups are 8/64" on the "E", and "A" string, and 6/64" on the "D", and "G" string.

The board view from the nut looking down the neck is with the nut lowered to 1/64" on all strings. The side view was taken yesterday when it was at 2/64". Since it is a flat bottom nut I just sanded the bottom off a bit. This is not the final nut. As it is slightly off on the string spacing, and I have a nice new bone blank to cut.
