(Or anyone, as long as Brandt sees this)
These are some clips I recorded of the Fender Nylon Filament Wounds.
I also recorded some clips of the DR flats and Chromes for comparison.
Each clip is recorded directly into my E-MU without effects or anything.
Fingerstyle goes from near the bridge, above the pickup, close to the neck, then palm mute/thumb.
Pickstyle goes Green .88 Dunlop pick near the bridge, Tortex .73 above the pickup, same pick by the neck, then Tortex .60 palm mute.
I didn't do any slap type stuff because I figure if you're into slapping, you wouldn't be looking at these strings. Anyway...

Nylons Noodly Doodly
The Nylons were very noisy. There is no metal to metal contact with the bridge to be grounded. Also, the guages were very unbalanced. The D and G strings felt tighter than the A and E strings, and didn't fit into the nut properly. You can hear in the recordings that the A and E strings buzzed because of the loose tension. (I didn't adjust the trussrod, though I did adjust the string saddles, as I knew these weren't staying on long) The G string seemed quieter than rest.
Texture wise, they felt kind of cool, almost like a flat, but softer. I think these in a normal guage set (maybe 110-50) would be okay if you can remedy the noise problem.
Hope this helps.
